Hello All,
I'v read and visited many times this page and forum, and finally after long time I decided to register and join to the forum and I'm really glad to be here
I have an 90 20v quattro with a rare - 10 yahre quattro - edition. I'v already done a few smaller modification on the engine as the Bosch injector converson for example. Needless to say this homepage helped a lot in this case too
But I feel nowadays it's time to step forward. I'm thinkink to make the 2,5 liter conversion. I'v checked many topics in this forum as well and seems the most sensitive or let's say the most painful part is the 92,8 mm crankshaft due to the high price. Well I'v read about the supplier where from you can order easily or about the T3 Microbus in S-Africa. But I'v never read anything about the 2,5l vw engines which were produced only for North and South America and Middle East. This engine were installed in the following models: VW Rabbit (Golf Mk5), VW Jetta Mk5, Volkswagen New Beetle between 2005-2010. Well this has also the right bore x stroke: 82.5 by 92.8 mm.
In this case the crankshaft should be ok. What do you think? Could it fit?
Thanks in advance!
